Moving to a new country is both exciting and challenging. For Taylor Schürmann, born and raised in South Africa, relocating to the Netherlands was a chance to take the next step in her professional development. She was looking for a place where she could grow, apply her international experience and feel truly connected to her team. At Dynamic People, she found exactly that. “I wasn’t just looking for a job, but for an environment where I could grow and truly feel part of the team. During the first interview, I immediately felt it: here, they really look at who you are and what you bring to the table.”
As a Functional Consultant, Taylor works on a variety of projects within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. Her role is content-driven and focused on improving clients’ financial and operational processes. The use of technologies like Copilot makes the work even more dynamic.
“The pace is fast, but that’s exactly what I enjoy. You learn something new every day. I have the freedom to figure things out myself, but I never feel like I’m on my own. Colleagues are always willing to help and think along.”
Taylor’s background in South Africa is a clear asset in her current role. She worked in both business and technology roles, often in international settings. That experience has broadened her perspective and helps her build strong client relationships.
“I’ve learned to adapt quickly and work easily with people from different cultures. It means I communicate clearly and build trust fast – both within the team and with clients.”
What stood out to her immediately at Dynamic People? The energy and openness. It’s present in both the little things and the bigger picture, from onboarding and team meetings to something as simple as lunch. “You can feel right away that things are happening here. The quote ‘we have a bias for action’ isn’t just decoration on the wall. It’s reflected in how people collaborate – quick to respond, always moving forward, but with real attention for each other.”
“There’s a fresh lunch every day – I wasn’t used to that. But more than that, it’s the transparency that stood out. You know where the organisation is heading and how your role contributes to it. That creates trust.”
Taylor is naturally curious and eager to learn. She asks questions, does her own research and learns by bouncing ideas off her colleagues. Outside of work, she also makes time for focus and balance. “I play hockey – a sport that combines strategy and technique. It helps me clear my head and stay focused.”
Her favourite moment of the week? The Friday wrap-up with the team. “That’s when many colleagues are in the office and we close the week together. Reflecting on what we achieved, sharing successes and looking ahead – it really builds connection.”
“Just go for it. Have the conversation and get to know the team. You’ll know quickly whether it’s the right fit. For me, it was clear from the very beginning.”
