Who is Emiel Dekker?

Where are you from?

I am Dutch. Since one year I live in the city of Amersfoort. But I was born in and for the largest part of my life I have lived in Amsterdam.

What did you study?

I studied Logistics and Technical Transportation Management at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam.

What is your role and what do you enjoy most about your job?

Within Dynamic People I have a rather flexible role. On one side my responsibilities lie at invoicing hours and subscriptions towards our customers, but I also help out in the fields of HR, Marketing and Services and Support. And part of my work is also the role of office manager. This mix of these various activities and responsibilities is what I enjoy most in my job.

Do you have any hobbies or passions outside of work?

In my spare time my hobby is photography and (digital) photo development. My field of interest in photography is landscape and cityscape, and portrait photography. For many years I have given photography courses in Amsterdam, mainly to expats.

What is your favorite food, and do you have any secret food indulgences?

My favourite food are traditional Dutch dishes, Italian pastas and pizzas, and Indonesian rise table dishes. I do not like shell fish or asparagus and Brussel sprouts. I do have a strong craving for good chocolate.

If you had to choose, which TV show or cartoon character would you say defines you?

I believe I am a unique combination of the charm and looks from Don Draper (Mad Men) and the clumsiness of Wile E. Coyote (Looney Tunes).

Last but not least, what do you love about our company, and which core value connects with you the most?

Very special about working at Dynamic People, and what I value the most, is how we really care about each other. It’s not only hard work and meeting deadlines, and it’s not only fun and games, but we are also there for each other when people struggle with private or work life. We celebrate the high, and we support each other during the lows.
